    • To be honest I’m undecided on the issue. I can see both sides of the argument. On a personal level, I’d probably say that any physical activity is good for looking after our bodies, the temple of the Holy Spirit. I don’t think that Westernized Yoga is the same as Hindu religious practice but I would personally choose to avoid it. I guess I’d focus on my intentions of the activity, what is my mind or spirit focussed on when I’m doing it. What about you? 😊

      • Personally, I would err on the side of caution and not participate in Yoga period. The poses are an ancient form of worshiping the sun god. Even Egyptian hieroglyphs depict such poses. I know people think they can “Westernize” an ancient practice and rename the whole thing as “Exercise” but it doesn’t change the fact that you are indirectly worshiping the sun God and can invite the Kundalini spirit to posses you. There have been cases where the Kundalini spirit attaches itself to a person around their spine and all of a sudden a person experiences physical afflictions unbeknownst to them not knowing the cause.

What we do for “Fun” or for Exercise…if the activity is rooted in some ungodly ancient practice…why do it at all? Why invite trouble in your life? Why open the door to spiritual and physical oppression in the first place? I’d say avoid it at all costs. This also is the same with martial arts as well…Having lived in China and experienced spiritual oppression myself, I definitely know what I’m talking about. That’s my take on the whole thing.

I think Christians need to be aware that the world is watering down alot of ungodly activities and renaming them so that you can participate in such ungodly practices in your ignorance not knowing that you are opening up doors for curses and spiritual oppression to take place. We should not compromise nor get suckered into renamed ungodly practices. At the end of the day, it’s up to a person to choose what they decide to do. I agree with your thought in focusing on your intentions of the activity. Just because something becomes common practice doesn’t mean it’s a go-ahead to engage is such activities. We need to really be discerning of what is and isn’t okay for any Christian to be participating in. Sorry for the long essay of an answer. I just wanted to say my two cents.

        Blessings.

      • Thanks Sherline, I would I agree with you for the most part, hence why I said I would avoid it personally. I think you’re right in how some things that are perhaps spiritually sinister have been watered down to make them more acceptable and so we can end up taking part in things we thing are innocent when they are not.
